Hello, after reading multiple threads I still don't understand the differences between these two pumps. Could someone point them out? Which of these have a variable speed control like the mcp655 variable speed pump? Is it quieter? Thank you.

Solution
The "S" stands for strong or something like that, and it can be overvolted to 24v to perform better than a standard 12v D5 pump. You do need a Koolance pump controller (which is ~$50) to do this though.
The vanilla 450 is your standard D5 Vario pump, and you can control the speed on the pump itself without the need for external controller, but it cannot (or at least doesnt support) be overvolted.

I will have to increase the speed of the pump in order to keep temperatures of the loop down and cool due to the large size of the loop. This is what I mean, will I have to increase the speed of the 450 to a point that the pump will be significantly loud, more so than the "stronger" 450S?
