I have a Sony TZ 150 (Model PCG 41L) with win xp, service pack 3 and having problems with the Alps touch pad - it seems to just stop responding and mostly, I have to re-boot the system
I checked with SOny and the driver seems to be up tp date (Device Driver says the Alps pointing Device is working) but I think this is either a hardware issue or a Windows issue.
In what may be a related issue, my cursor keeps jumping around the screen when typing - I have no idea why.
