So im looking for a upgrade GPU for my cousin since im not at his house yet its gonna be hard to give his system specs but i can say http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139011 is the Power supply that i was looking at. Also I was looking at the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121805 ASUS MATRIX-R9280X . But sadly its out of stock and has been for a while now.

Now for upgrades that i was looking at that is in stock was the
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202061
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100363BF4L Radeon R9 280X

Since im still new to custom PCs i was going by http://www.pc-specs.com but have no clue if it is a good enough site to go by. But any help would be amazing.

Something i forgot to mention on the Saphire Dual X page it said 750 Watt Power Supply is required.
1x75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector is required.
1x150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express power connector is required.

But 1000 Watt Power Supply is recommended for CrossFireX System.
2x75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector is required for CrossFireX system.
2x150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express power connector is required for CrossFireX system.

So another question Is the CrossFireX system worth it? if i do chose that card?

Solution
If there is only one Pci-e slot then you do want the best card that you can afford since you can't add another.

r9-280x
r9-290
r9-290x
GTX 770
GTX 780
GTX 780Ti
The Saphire is also out of stock also along with every 280x that is listed on Newegg. They must have had a tremendous Black Friday and Cyber Monday to wipe out all of those cards.
Did you want to try Amazon ?

A crossfire system is worth it if your CPU is strong enough.

wow that literally just went out of stock, Amazon could work. But at this point im looking for a better GPU that will fit the power supply i picked out, but i should be going over there soon and ill be able to tell you the system specs to make it much easier. I been on newegg and other sites for the past 3 hours trying to pick out a similar GPU to the first one i linked.

I tried going through that mega list of info you linked but there was just too much info and actually couldn't find the motherboard. The CPU is an 8 core AMD so that's good and there's 8gb of ram also good. So as long as the motherboard has two free x16 Pci-e slots then two cards will work.

I would stay with a 270x or 280x from AMD or a GTX 760 or 770 from Nvidia. Those two card combinations would work great for gaming.

According to what I've been able to find out that motherboard only has one Pci-e x16 slot. If you look inside the case at the motherboard you should be able to see the slots and if there is only one blue slot then that's the only slot for a video card. You need to see two of the blue slots.

It looks like you have plenty of room for the card and as long as there is nothing blocking the card from fitting it will be ok. If the hard drive cage was in the way then it would be a problem but from the picture it looks like there is space there and nothing will interfere with the card.

ok cool but on the side of the case that comes off is a fan which is about a inch or so wide and im not sure if it will interfere with the card http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=nod6c4&s=5#.Up9rp5Ao6Uk I tried taking a picture with the case closed but it wouldn't come out right. So I opened the case just a little bit to show you what I am talking about.

Speaking about the hard drive cage it looks like there is half an inch to spare

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487001
GeForce GTX 780 Ti
and the
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150675 Radeon R9 290X

are the card im debating between seems like they will both fit the case the first oe being a bit smaller both have 1 pci slot

But for the GTX 780 it says Slot Width: Dual Slot ,would the dual slot work on my setup?

Also is it safe to mix a NVidia gpu with an amd cpu?

I know each gpu has 1 pci slot but is the MSI MS-7641 motherboard powerful enough to run either of the gpus I listed?

Unless you have an unconventional case the side fan will not interfere with the video card, all you have to do is at the rear of the case measure from the screw down to the side of the case to see what you have for space. Then look at a picture of the card and see if it sticks above the bracket any.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.
