What is causing my cpu to get so hot? Here are my details from HWMonitor.

idle

load

I think maybe it could be airflow but it was always ok before, dunno why all of a sudden it would change and yes I have cleaned all the dust. The only thing i noticed was underneath the temperature stats where is says Power on Idle the package on the cpu would go from 40w (like on the picture) to 130-150w, even if i'm just watching something on youtube. Is that something to worry about?

More about : 920 hot idle 50c load bf4 close 100

Check if the CPU heatsink is well secured. Also try measuring the temp with different software, some might give wrong numbers.

Do you have an overclock on the CPU? If yes you need a better CPU cooler so remove the overclock until a better cooler is fit. If there is no overclock the it could be a CPU a cooler problem, first remove side of the case and make sure CPU cooler fan is spinning. If it is then you will need to remove the cooler completely, remove any thermal paste and re apply thermal paste then re seat. That will solve any overheating issue. Also agreed with above post try using different software for measuring your CPU temps.

Sorry my first post, I don't think I managed to add the pictures properly :s, here are the links

My cpu is on stock 2.67ghz on a P6x58D Premium motherboard, i know they run hot but to it seems too high to me.
Here are the readings from realtemp:

As for the fan, i'll double check and get back to you, I recently added new thermal paste to get the temperature down, which it did because before it was use to be on 60c while idle.

Well that's hot. I am more convinced that you need a new cooler.

Thanks for the help guys, i was busy with work but i ordered a new heatsink, which arrived, lowered my temp to 40 on idle and 60 on load with bf4 so yeh, it was my cooler that was messed up. Thanks again, awesome website!
