Hello all,

I am in the process of building a p/c that will be used for photo/video editing, transcoding etc. This p/c will NOT be used for gaming, hence why I haven't listed a video card as I understand it will not help. I may tinker with overclocking in the future but believe it should be plenty fast for the time being.

I've purchased most items plus have some items from a previous computer and have budgeted roughly $300 (but less is better) for a mATX motherboard (prefer ASUS) and 16gb (2x8) of RAM.

Unless there is something special about the ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE for an additional $30, I plan on going with the ASUS GRYPHON Z87.

Not sure about RAM and am especially looking for recommendations here...
I know lower CAS + higher speed = faster but also = more $$$. Just don't know how big of a difference lower CAS will make for my use. RAM listed is currently on sale.
