Simple question - Laptop motherboard / What if the battery has been removed from the MB?

I was trying to replace the power jack on an Asus K53e laptop for my stepdaughter. I accidently broke the MB trying to get the power jack desoldered and removed. So now I'm thinking of buying a used replacement motherboard on ebay which almost assuredly will not have the battery in it. Now when I take the battery out of the old MB and put it in the replacement MB, does that pose an issue? Is the BIOS on the replacement board still intact without the battery in place?

If the motherboard battery is removed, then you can't save BIOS settings (when powered off). Otherwise, it will work properly. Just re-install a working battery in the new motherboard and you won't have any issues saving BIOS settings.
