I just got my new Sapphire Radeon R9-280X. I installed it and then I used the included CD to install the drivers, then checked for updates. I decided to do some benchmarks on Minecraft. On vanilla Minecraft, according to these settings http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Hardware_performance
I achieved only 300 FPS average. My card was only at 25% activity and 20% Fan speed. With the Shaders Mod, I get about 40 FPS. A GTX 770 gets about 600 Vanilla and 100 Shaders. What am I doing wrong? Why do I have so low FPS? What can I do to fix it?

I'd be interested in an answer for this too, Afterburner tells me my GPU usage is 61% whilst playing BF4 multiplayer and getting crappy fps with everything on low :/

im using a fx6300 overclocked to 4.2 btw

720p resolution? Specifically, what else do you need? (processor, hard drive, etc)

Thats strange.... I saw that an R9-280X ran Ultra BF4 Settings in 1080p at ~60 FPS.....

the psu too please... (or if you know it's a decent one there;s no point).

check the temperature readings while gaming (coretemp and whatever you prefer for the gpu). i think they are fine though else the fan on the 280 would not stay at 20%.

how's the cpu usage while gaming?

PSU: Seasonic 620W 80+ Bronze

GPU Temp rarely goes above 50 C but its normally about 37-47 C
CPU is almost constantly 17% but will go up to ~30% at times (such as when the world begins to load)

cpu temps ok? if yes... then i'm just stuck i have no idea why the components refuse to work at their full capacity. very weird.

try to completely uninstall your driver and install the catalyst from the amd website - latest version.

install also the inf driver thing from intel in case it's a problem with the mobo drivers.

CPU temps were never above normal.
