I have a Gateway FPD1530 that was in my basement for a few years and I used it on my old computer just fine. I built my new one and no display. Plugged it into the HP in the living room which was running Windows Vista and it worked.

My computer is running Windows 7 and the monitor won't light up. I put a flashlight to it, you can see thew screen but it won't be bright enough to see without flashlight.

IS this a driver issue cause it won't work on the Windows 7 computers in my house...

Well, since you say the monitor has a picture of the screen if you hold a light up to it, but it works on the other PC's, idk what to say. Sounds like a bad monitor that just happened to work when you plugged it in the old pc and quit working after that.
Hello... a monitor is a passive device, no drivers needed... just plug it in and set the input on the monitor controls to your cable type... you could have bad bulbs/tubes or the power supply to power them is bad... there are kits to replace bulbs/power supplies if ya good with your hands.

Hmmm. Could be power source then. Make sure the cable is connected firmly into the pc and the monitor and also check the power cable as well.

If not either of those go into device manager and see if it's showing up as an unrecognized device.

Hello... So the monitor works with other computers? please tell us the name and model...Are you using a Motherboard connector or Video card to your monitor? and what type of cable are you using? can you plug into another connector MB/video card? can you check the settings you have in the Windows 7 machine? Right click your desktop and left click "Screen resolution" for multi-monitor settings.

Eh, I give up it's not a big deal. When I put a flashlight to it I can see that it's displaying everything but whatever the reason 2/3 computers it doesn't wanna work for.

it's VGA but I'm using a VGA to DVI adapter. Even when plugged into my other computer which is VGA it doesn't work. It works on the computer that had Vista however. And that computer is the only one without a video card. However now that the computer it works on has Windows 7, I've yet to see if it still works.

I may eventually just buy a new 15-20 inch. As long as it has okay color I'm fine with that, I just wanna be able to watch YouTube and stuff while I play games which I used to do with my Dell monitor but I gave that to my brother lol.

It works with one computer which is using the N-Force chipset in its motherboard. The 2 it doesn't work with are using A GeForce 760 (mine) and the other a GeForce 210 (my brothers/my old computer)

Hello... VGA is a Analog signal... DVI is a Digital input... not all adaptors will work between the two... and modern video cards may or maynot have analog working to each connector you might be using, check video card websites/manuals for using VGA monitors with them.
