This apevia power supply has been working fine for me. I have Powercolor 7770 and it seems to support it fine. That being said the 7770 I do have installed only requires 450W; but these 7950s that I'm interested in buying require 500W:

Has anyone else used Apevia PSU's for these types of video cards? What are you experiences with it? Also of the two 7950s I linked which one is better for the price?

can you give me the model of the psu you have? It's probably enough to handle a singe 7950, but if you can get the model i can look at the specs and let you know for sure.

Edit: I didn't see the link at the top, looking now

also, the gigabyte has a faster clock speed and triple fan cooling, so I would say go with that one.

Okay, so your PSU can handle it just fine, since the +12v rail is 35A, as long as you aren't using multiple cards and not running a crap load of unnecessary junk.

Again, i would probably go with the gigabyte since it has a higher clock speed.

I don't see a problem with it, just try to keep an eye on how much wattage you're using. So look up your processor and how many HDDs you have and all other accessories, add it up and see what you have. the 7950 under full load is in the range of 150-170W. OCing it to that of a 7970 would probably put it almost 200. I don't see an issue with it on your PSU, but to be safe, take the extra time, do some simple addition, and make sure you're okay not to put strain on it. :)
