Is the GTX 780 Ti compatible with my current computer?

Solution

I will need more...

Nvidia rate the card at 250w, there is no way that is going to double with a bit of OC'ing so stop with the BS. :non:

This is stock aftermarket cards will eat much more..over at overclock.net The 780 TI with a small bump in PT and voltage can eat almost 600watts. You're one of the biggest supports of Nvidia on this site yet you do not know that much about their architectures?

For reference, I tried running one of my 780Ti's at stock on my wifes desktop (500w) and it failed to boot. Although she does have some cheap PSU that doesn't even have a label on it.

I will need more than a forum post for proof but if that is all you need then it certainly explains a few things!

I revised my earlier post go a head and research away GK110 is a power hogging beast when voltage tweaked

I've just tested a 780Ti on a Corsair CX430 in BF4 (I have too many builds in my house). As soon as the GPU started to draw a bit of power the PSU gave out and that was that.

I'd suggest against anything under 550w.

So taking the voltage locks off and pumping as much wattage as you want through the card deems it a power hog does it?
