I have 8GB of memory installed in my computer ( in dual channel), but when i go to PC Info it says i only have 4 GB installed. Also when i use Belarc Advisor, it tells me that only one of my sticks is working and being read. But when using CPUID, that program tells me that i have 8GB of memory installed in single channel. Can someone tell me what is wrong and if i have a dead stick or not?

what does the BIOS say?......... are sticks in correct slots?

or that particular ram slot is bad.................. try putting the other stick in that same slot. what happens?
