Hello
Its been a while since I've built a system.
I have always came here for info years ago and would just like to say this is a great site for info.

I've been thinking about building another system for a while and I'm partial to AMD and Asus mobo.
Has anyone put the (ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS) and a( AMD FX-4300 Vishera 3.8GHz (4.0GHz) Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor) together? Are there other options that would compare to this setup. This will be primarily for gaming and a media center, also would like suggestion for video and memory.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I would like to stay between $900-1200.
I was just reading the budget and high end AMD gaming builds.
Maybe I need to do a little more reading. I guess the crosshair V just struck a spark after reading the specs It really looked like a nice board which cpu would you recommend for this board?

This is a terrific graphics card, I'm using it right now and have had zero issues with it. It also has a nice heatsink on it.

If you're going for AMD, get the FX-8350.

If you're gonna go intel, an i5 4670k will work fine, if you wanna do more than gaming (photoshop and whatnot) go for an i7 4770k.

regarding motherboards, get the best chipsets. For intel, it'd be z87, for amd 990fx.
Gigabyte, asus, msi, and asrock are good motherboard brands.

pair a R9 280x with a fx8350 and give enough cooling by buying an aftermarket cpu cooler like the CM Hyper 212EVO.
The sabertooth would be a bit costly, buy something like the Asus 990fx,Asrock 990fx,MSI 990fx-GD65 and invest more on the gpu.

Thanks for all the input.
I've been doing some studying and I've decided to change my budget a bit.
In the end I want a 3 monitor setup primarily for gaming.
I've got the cool master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition.
1 VelociRaptor 600 gig HDD.
2 Kingston Hyper X 3K 120 gig SSD.
1 Antec True Power 750W 80 Plus Gold PS.
At this point Im trying to make a final decision on video card then Ill decide on the mobo and cpu ( still leaning towards the CrossHair V Furmula-Z and Amd FX8350 and some good dual channel memory for this.

I seem to be stuck trying to decide if I need to buy 1 high end GPU or if it would be better to buy to mid range and use Crossfire. Maybe two ASUS HD 7850 vs one Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB or this NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590.
What do you guys think. My main concern is trying to cover all angles so I dont wind up with something thats not compatible and a system that will not be to hard to set up a 3 display system on.

I plan to finish the build on the high end and I will get 3 matching displays at a later date.
