My motherboard is the ASUS M5A78L-M (AM3R2) and I was hoping to get an Intel I7 4770k processor (I currently have the AMD FX-6350) and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 but I have no idea about compatibility issues. My motherboard supports AM3+ and from what I hear the I7 doesn't :/ so if I can't get an I7 4770k then what (much better than my current) CPU be upgraded to in an AM3+ motherboard?

Also, will I be able to get a GTX 780, is it compatible?

Thanks for the help in advance :)

Thanks. what about graphics cards? Can I use a GTX 780? Will my CPU struggle to keep up with it if I can?
And what is the best CPU my motherboard can support?

No u can't use a 780 with fx6300, it will badly bottleneck. And ur mobo doesn't support 125W cpu's, so u cannot upgrade to a powerful fx8350.
Their are some options available to u:
1.If u can afford a 4770k, then buy a z87 mobo and get on with it.
2.If u want to upgrade to a better something less costlier, then buy a new AM3+ mobo and pair it with a fx8350.
3.Keep ur current mobo and processor, buy an aftermarket cooler like CM Hyper 212EVO and upgrade to a R9280x/hd7970/gtx670.
