No internet connection

My Toshiba laptop says its connected to a network but won't connect to the internet. All other computers connect and I have the same problem no matter where I try to access the internet. HELP!

Hello... give us your Windows version and wireless/wired connection available that you are trying... have you tried a wired connection to it? have you got a security option causing it? have you tried the toshiba connect software?

Windows Vista Home Premium and an ethernet cable won't connect either. I have disables all security software and firewall. I don't know how to run connect software. I have no original discs.

Hello... try Control Panel-Internet Options, and re-set all Windows/internet settings to default, reboot and try to connect agian.

If you have a netgear router, there is a vista setting for DHCP broadcast that makes it fail to get an address. MS has a hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233
This disables the flag. Worked for me with my N300, maybe with other routers as well.
