I'm looking for a new desktop since mine is about 5 years old and i'm ready for a upgrade. I know very little about building a PC and probably wouldn't be able to unless i'm reading a step by step guide for dummies.

I'm looking for a powerful gaming PC. I'm not too sure about the price range for good gaming desktops but if I need to buy a new graphics card or something in the future I will. My max budget for now is probably about $1000-1200. If I knew more about building PC's I would probably just buy the parts to replace in my current desktop but right now i prefer to just buy a pre-built one and go from there.

Any recommendations? I'm thinking about just getting the Alienware X51 but I'm not sure on how much it could be upgraded or if there are better choices. Maybe someone has a pre-built PC to link from http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ or something? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

I have owned both an alienware m17x r3 laptop and also alienware's aurora r3 desktop and both purchases have been very unpleasant for me. Alienware is good in the short run but, it is a horrific nightmare in the long run. I know from experience that building a PC for the first time may seem a little overwhelming but once you begin, it pretty easy. When I built my firs PC, I used a website called http://pcpartpicker.com/ and it helped me a lot with finding all of the parts you would need to build your computer.

Another option, if you didn't mind waiting, would be the new Steam Machines that would most likely be launching within the next year.

Good Luck

I would stay far away from Alienware systems. Alienware uses lower end GPUs, low quality PSUs and Hard Drives, and bad fans. You should seriously consider building your own computer, as william7164 said it seems a bit overwhelming and hard at first but once you've watched a few video tutorials and read a few guides you will know what you are doing. If you really don't want to build computer, I would suggest CyberPower. I've heard that there customer service is better than iBuyPower and Alienware.

Don't go anywhere near Alienware! They make overpriced junk computers, they are owned by Dell which isn't a good sign (In my opinion) Alienware are known to be so overpriced and use low quality components, consider building one yourself I am just 14 and did my first build 2 weeks ago it was easy! All you need is a little research or just follow a build tutorial on YouTube there are loads!
