Changing power supply for an hp P6-2390.
Based on some suggestions at amazon.com, I purchased EVGA GeForce GTX 650 1024MB GDDR5 DVI mHDMI Graphics Card 01G-P4-2650-KR. It was also recommended to purchase Logisys Corp. 550W 120mm Ball Bearing Fan with PSU ATX 550 Power Supply PS550E12BK, Black -- both of these were purchased. However, one of the plugs I checked on the power supply does not match up to the plugs on my motherboard. So I have not installed anything. Question: can anyone either recommend a way to get the plug to work (mine has the wrong number of pins and I would not know what to try to match) or a power supply that would work (providing price is not too high). Thank you.

motherboard on the P6-2390 has a four pin plug that does not match any of the plugs on the power supply. Is it possible to add a connector to the six or eight pin connectors to make it work with the four pin plug on the motherboard?

Return the Power Supply. For the most part Logisys psu are pretty much junk. Just the fact that it has a manual switch to change voltage tells me that the design is about 8-10 years old.
The picture I did find shows a 4 pin Auxillary CPU power lead, but if yours doesn't have one, there is not a 'safe' way to make one or convert to one.
Also, you might need to call HP and make certain that they did NOT use a proprietary power supply, nor wire it diffently then a computer made with off-the--shelf parts; that may explain why that plug doesn't work.
If the wiring etc. is NON-proprietary, here is a nice, dependable, quality PSU that will work:
CORSAIR CXM series CX430M 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
