Java only requires 2 cores and it would be running linux.

Hey would this be a good minecraft server? It will be not on 24/7. And its just mabye 10-20 people on it. Would a 64gb ssd be better? Thanks. Luke.

Solution
The SSD is a bit overkill for a Minecraft server. It just isn't needed. So I kept the 8GB memory added a 300GB HDD which is all you need storage wise. I run a Counter Strike: Global Offensive server, Garry's Mod server, 2 Minecraft servers, and my gaming groups website and forums all on the same Virtual Private Server and we have only 100GB of storage and no SSD and it is extremely fast. Which goes to say 300GB is more then you need but it is future proofed for if you want to add mods and store huge maps on it etc. The 8GB of memory will also keep about 50 people at once on your server.

Great build except for one thing...So this is a Minecraft server, at the moment is is a good build for 10-20 people running regular Minecraft. But if you in the future plan on running various mods and stuff things will start slowing down. So heres my recomendation bump that hard drive down because 1TB is insane for a Minecraft server, it just won't be needed and with the money you save bump up that memory to 8gb or even higher. You don't need storage as much as you need memory.

Thats Great! I wouldn't disagree! Maybe a .5 tb hdd would be good for and could use it as a server for storing junk? But what OS do you use to run all those servers? Thanks, Luke.
