Hello, i was wondering what would be a better purchase. The hd 7870ghz edition from sapphire is $145 right now and the msi r9 270 is $179. Please tell me which would be the best bang for my buck. Also if i go with the msi r9 270 would a antec 430w psu suffice? Thanks

270 model requires only 1x6 pin pcie connector and has lower power consumtion...
both have the same core but your overclocking options would be most likely better with "older" 7870...

Ok so would a 430w psu power it, and give a little head room for oc? Because if i get the hd 7870 i need a new psu and for that total price i might as well get the r9 270

yes you got the point...
your psu would handle even 7870 but it won´t be ideal solution in terms of everyday usage...
