Hi everyone, a few months back i built my first gaming pc and i have learned a lot through my research and from the amazing support of the tom's hardware community, but i have just one final question about setting the latency (timing) on my G.Skill ripjaws ram.
The exact ram i have is "G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH"
Here is the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231276
I ended up buying another 2x2 GB of the same ram so i have 8 GB total installed now. I realize now that it was a bad decision to not start out with 2x4 GB but this was my first build so live and learn.
I am using an MSI Z87 G45 MOBO with MSI Click BIOS 4 (the latest UEFI BIOS) and i have found how to set the timings (i think) but it says if i mess with that it may cause my PC to not boot and i would have to clear the CMOS.
My question is will it be safe to take the stock timings down from the default 9-9-9-24, to the timing my set of ram claims it will run at which is 7-7-7-21.
