Hi everyone, a few months back i built my first gaming pc and i have learned a lot through my research and from the amazing support of the tom's hardware community, but i have just one final question about setting the latency (timing) on my G.Skill ripjaws ram.

The exact ram i have is "G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH"

Here is the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231276

I ended up buying another 2x2 GB of the same ram so i have 8 GB total installed now. I realize now that it was a bad decision to not start out with 2x4 GB but this was my first build so live and learn.

I am using an MSI Z87 G45 MOBO with MSI Click BIOS 4 (the latest UEFI BIOS) and i have found how to set the timings (i think) but it says if i mess with that it may cause my PC to not boot and i would have to clear the CMOS.

My question is will it be safe to take the stock timings down from the default 9-9-9-24, to the timing my set of ram claims it will run at which is 7-7-7-21.

Solution
If the MSI BIOS is up for it, give it a try manually set freq to 1333, base timings to 7-7-7-21, CR (Command Rate) to 2T and DRAM voltage to 1.5 (with two sets, may have to go up to 1.55

Thank you both for the help:) Tradesman1 thanks to your instructions i successfully set the timings manually and got everything to work perfectly! I actually do notice a slight increase in games that are hard on my system when set to max like COD Ghosts and assassins creed 4. They definitely run smother now and i am once again grateful for the help:)
