Most upcoming games are said to benefit from more cores and even hyperthreading. For now most games beneifit from about 2 to 4 cores, but the clock speed of those cores will be more important and would be less likely to cause a ottleneck in a 660 or 660ti so a the i3 2120 is a good choice as it is a decent price and leaves you with more money for your graphics card. also it has hyperthreading so that would come in nice for handling multithreaded applications. Alot of good games out right now are still using DX9, not all though. I am quite sure you would not bottleneck that GPU with an i3 2120.
