I am building a computer with asus crosshair v formula-z with an amd fx-9370. I want to stay away from water cooling. I was thinking about the cm hyper 212 evo. Any ideas on a CPU cooler? Don't want to expensive but don't want to have I worry about temputures. Also not planning on oc

Here's ONE of my FX8350 SETUPS.

Phanteks PH-TC14PE with Scythe Slipstream 110 CFM fans attached.

will it be enough for the base clock of 4.4 and turbo of 4.7ghz? I have also heard that the noctua nh d14 is really good. you think the cm hyper 212 evo will be good enough to keep the cpu cool?

Big no no if a coolermaster 212+ evo for centurion core..this processor is hot

Mr.blackbird has the best air cpu cooler..so, that's why he can run it at 5Ghz.

yes, noctua nh d14 is really good, give you almost same performance with Phanteks PH-TC14PE.

But i think, any based air cooler would struggle hard to keep this processor cool in full load..especially if you have hot environment..
I suggest you to take liquid based cooling, like Corsair h100i or Corsair H110..

but if your environment is cool, then noctua nh d14 should be enough..

Corsair policy will guarantee all of your damage parts (mobo, processor, hdd, vga etc), if their liquid based cooling product leak and cause damage on you computer parts...

Well, like i said before, any based air cooler would struggle hard to keep this processor cool in full load..especially if you have hot environment..if your sure you have a cool environment, then an air cooling is good..

Phanteks PH-TC14PE is the best air cooling in the market..this one slightly better than noctua nh d14

but if you're living in the warm and hot region, well, liquid based cooling (or even custom water cooling) is only option...

Remember, this 220watt tdp processor is hot

if I go with liquid cpu cooling which one would you recommend for cooling that processor without getting to expensive

in the case that i have it supports 1 230mm and 1 120mm fan on the top of the case. is there a way that i can still use the 230mm fan and have a 120mm radiator for the cpu cooler? if so, would the corsair h75 or the h80i be good enough to cool this cpu?

well, low end liquid cooler..
same level performance of h60..

but, if you can get it free..why not..?
Sell it to your friend, and you'll get more money to buy h80i cooler..:D

Why would a closed loop liquid cooler be less affected by ambient temp? its still cooling by air through the radiator.

I also suggest either the Phanteks TC14, the Noctua d14 and the Corsair H100i.
