Gtx 660 vs Radeon hd 7870

So I have been looking around and cant decide which is better, the gtx 660 ftw or the hd 7870. The difference between money isnt that big of a deal since they are both about the same price and i already have the rest of the parts needed for a gaming pc. The main game I will be playing is payday 2. If anyone could give me pros and cons on these that would be great. Thanks

Performance wise 7870 is a bit faster than 660.

Correct, the 7870 is slightly better on performance but not so much as to write home about.

If you plan to go the 7870 route you may want to consider a 270x. They are basically the same GPU except the 270x has full mantle support ready where the 7870 will require a bios flash. We can't really say if Mantle will be worth it, it looks promising, but we have yet to see it in action.

I have a gtx 660 and its a really solid card that has given me zero problems. That said if i could switch it for a 270X i probably would just because i think mantel will give it an edge.

if you need to flash your HD7k series just to get mantle support then amd is screwing with their customer.
