Hi guys, I'm not too familiar with power supplies and was wondering if my power supply could handle this card. From what I understand, cooler master's website here states that its 12 volt rails only supply 18Amps but on the EVGA site under the details tab, it says that it requires a minimum 450w and 24Amps. Would my power supply be able to handle the card?

edit: I'm also using an AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE which uses quite a bit of power from what I've been told.

It will run but you will see bottleknecking due to the PSU. To be safe I suggest upgrading to at least 650w.

big no no with extreme power series from cooler master..

this series always troublesome..
low efficiency and ripple/noise is extremely high in 80% load..

get a better psu..
seasonic seasonic 520w s12ii-520 is example of a good psu..

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably just hold off purchasing a new card now and upgrade the power supply and the graphics card in the future when I can afford it.

Yup, i'm using the same hardware configuration in your question, and that PSU sux, tons of issues after a year of extreme gaming, i'd think i'm lucky to be playing until now. i'm getting the Seasonic X850 to be safe
