Major overkill for 1080p gaming. You could build differing for$2000 that would perform the same. That GPU and CPU are overkill for gaming on one 1080p 60Hz monitor.

You can get the GTX780ti sc with acx cooler for the same price from Umart, it's beastly!

It is a bit of an overkill for 1080p right now, but you will get some future proofing, and you could always look at getting a 1440p monitor rather (you can get some of the korean brands off e-bay for under $400, look for Qnix or Yamasaki)

if you arent planning on overclocking, you can shave a fair bit off your cpu & mobo and get the higher res monitor to to get more value from your video card.

i would say your Monitor would be the weak link in your setup. like envy14tpe said you could spend half of that and get the exact same experience on a 1080p monitor perhaps better if you hate screen tearing.

what you have have picked are some of the best parts money can buy, except for your monitor (im not disputing the quality of it, just the amount of pixels) and that is what you spend the most time looking at!

here is an example of the monitor:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Perfect-Pixel-27-QNIX-QX2710...

As always read some reviews on it and make your decision from there, there are some people reporting issues with a few dead pixels, but this particular one is the "pixel perfect" version, you pay a little more, but they test it for dead pixels before sending it out.

this advice is merely my opinion, hardware is a hobby of mine and i am definitley not the guru that alot of the forum regulars are, they will be able to point out any inaccuracies in my post.

I do plan to overclock my CPU. ANd this build was meant to be future proof(last a few years with this build.)

hmm, i know amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-LED-Evolution-2560x14...) keep some of those monitors, but shipping will be extra... ebay ones include express shipping so it usually arrives within 6 days. unfortunately i am not aware of any local suppliers of this monitor, but i havent really looked too hard.

your parts are definitely top of the range and should keep you gaming at max settings for a while! maybe you could save a bit on the motherboard, you can get an asrock z87 extreme4 for about $175 from umart ( ww.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=5 ) and the hard drives are a little cheaper, but if money is no object, i would say a bigger monitor is all you need to have a top of the line rig, that will keep you going for a long time. i you could always drop in a second graphics card after a year or 2, and keep your system going for even longer.

hmmm, i dont think that hdmi supports that resolution, but im not sure of that. i believe ther may be workarounds, but i think you need hdmi 1.3 or something along those lines...
