I've got a amd phenom II x 6 1090t black edition 3.2ghz
890gxm-g65 msi
hyper 212 evo cpu cooler

My question is,in the next week or so i'm going to get r9 280x so I'll need to OC my cpu to 3.8ghz but my question is can I safely OC my cpu.I've heard this motherboard isn't the safest motherboard to oc on and if the motherboard does goes out while OCing will it take any other components with it or just the motherboard?
Please don't say yeah its fine or yeah you can OC on it.Please give me detailed anaylsis as my motherboard depends on it :p

Solution
The 'safest' mobo would put you down by nearly 250USD...... :) if there was such a thing....
You won't be OCing the mobo..... you'll be OCing the RAM and the CPU..... so most probably they're the ones you'll blow up first since the mobo is pretty ok for OCing.... since it does have solid power thingys.... :)

Details???
What sort??
If you're new to OCing... you have a lot of reading to do, and believe me, there's no fun in OCing if it's not going to end up burning your stuff the first few times....
Experience is the best teacher.

Hey what should I set my cpu fsd and ratio and voltage at to gain 3.8ghz OC on my CPU.
This is my first time OC'ing the cpu but I've OC'ed the graphic card before so I've got some basic knowledge ;P.I'll be putting artic silver 5 as my thermal compound and hyper 212 evo as my cpu cooler so it should be good enough to oc to 3.8ghz
