Pairs and Divisible by 2 for Haswell CPUs

Hi;

I just want to confirm if the latest Haswell CPU requires that your system must run in let's say, stick pairs of ram that are divisible by 2 like when the first i series came out?

I am building a system, and I am intending to buy 1 8GB of 1600MHz RAM.

Thanks for the answer. Actually, my ol buddy of mine bought a haswell build and was told by the sales rep that he needs can't run the system with only one RAM and has to buy a expensive ASUS motherboard that does just that.
