Hi it's me Glipan Yong desiring for the replies of anybody fervent enough to state their opinions. i would like to ask if the 3rd gen intel core processor is ok, if compared to 4rd gen intel core processor. i want to buy a laptop for mainstream gaming like playing garena plus game and cso, so i decided to select dell inspiron 15R. it comes with a 3rd gen intel core i7( 3.1GHz), amd radeon hd 8730m, ram 4gbx2, and 1terabyte with 4m cache.

so is it good enough for casual gaming as i have stated above? and also, is 3rd gen intel core good enough? thnks for any assistances o(^o^)0

Generally speaking, assuming the same clockspeed and number of cores, the performance increase from Ivy Bridge to Haswell is only about 6%. Haswell uses a little less power as well. The biggest improvement is with the integrated graphics core (iGPU); the Intel HD 4600 is about 35% - 40% more powerful than the Intel HD 4000. However, with a dedicated graphics chip to play games with the performance of the iGPU does not really matter very much.

The Radeon HD 8730m should be fine for casual games.
