Hi,

I've got a Corsair HX750 (silver) (http://www.corsair.com/professional-series-hx750-80-plus-silver-certified-modular-power-supply.html) running 2x MSI Radeon HD 7950 very comfortably.
I recently got another 7950 and decided that I needed to upgrade the power to something bigger (thinking the Vantec VOLTRA+, 1050w) but that upgrade is a month or 2 away.

My questions are:

1) Can I run 3x 7950 on the HX750 for only a short while?
2) If I can do #1, I only see 2 blue connectors on the PSU for the GPUs, do I have to split one of the cables (and how), or can I run a 6pin non-blue cable from one of the other slots to the 3rd GPU?

You should not try to run 3 7950's on a 750W psu. This website did find that 3x 7950's only used 411W, but it could easily get up to 450W (http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/radeon_hd_7950_crossfire_review_2_and_3_way,5.html).

You're welcome to try running 3x 7950's for a couple months(technically, you're still ducking under the max power output), but it's at your own risk. If you don't have enough 6-pin pcie connectors, you can buy molex to 6-pin connectors (as long as you have enough free molex connectors).

I would still say don't. Try going for a PSU that's from Corsair or Seasonic.
