Was wondering if my Rosewill tachyon 550W platinum plus is good enough for the following rig ( no overclocking )

Gigabyte radeon r9 280x windforce 3x oc
amd 8350
asus m5a97 evo r2.0
1tb hdd
120gb ssd
dvd-rw
hr-02 macho
fractal r4 with 3x 140mm fans
g.skill riwjaws x 8gb 1600hz
win 8.1

Thanks in advance!

I would say you'd be better off with a 650W Corsair or even better, a 650W XFX.

Yes it will handle that fine. It is a quality unit and the recommendations for a system with single 280X is 600watts which is based on low quality generic units http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
Actual total system power consumption measured is closer to 400watts under stress testing http://anandtech.com/show/7400/the-radeon-r9-280x-revie...
