Seeing an issue where Windows 7 will boot in normal mode and get stuck with a blank screen only showing the cursor. The PC/Laptop will boot into Safe Mode with no problem at all but trying to get back into Normal mode has the same results. AT first I was rolling PC back with had a 50/50 shot of fixing this issues. What is a consistent fix right now however is related to USB devices. Removing all USB devices allows the PC's to boot into normal mode every time.

- What changed in USB land that is causing this to happen?
- What can I do to nip this for all my customers??

Solution
so does windows boot into normal mode like normal without the usbs connected? If not go into safe mode with networking and uninstall and reinstall all usb drivers. If that dont fix it if you using a flash drive format the flash drive. If it does boot into normal mode without a problem do the same thing with the drivers

I had an issue in the past with a black screen and a blinking cursor which was solved by removing the RAM and putting it back in. May not help in your case due to the issues with USB, but it can't hurt to try.
