EDIT: Upon restarted the PC, I cannot click either of the Avatar profiles. I have to manually press "enter" and then do password. Upon doing so, the mouse issues persist. Really worried. :(

Hi, all.

I've decided to come here as I'm at my wits end.

Everything was fine yesterday until between 7-8PM. I was browsing the web and had pressed right click to open a link in a new tab via Google Chrome.

All of a sudden, Google Chrome essentially froze. I couldn't click on the settings button, I couldn't click on a tab, only the x to get rid of it. I could open a new tab okay. Also, none of the address bars would let me click on them, and often times it would eventually freeze to where I couldn't even click out of Chrome.

Upon going on desktop without any internet engine going, every time I'd left click the mouse it would show all of the menu options (white box) that right click should be doing, and right click did nothing.

I went into the mouse settings, and neither the swap buttons option or click lock were selected. I checked multiple times.

What worries me further is more times than not I cannot even open the start button or desktop icons, I have to hit the windows key on my keyboard and use the arrows and enter to get anywhere.

I even tried unplugging the USB cord to the mouse and using my wireless mouse on a different USB at the front of the PC...the same issue was happening.

What's peculiar is if I try and use Internet Explorer, my non default web browser, I can press all of the tabs, options, etc.

This was happening all last night, and I loaded up the PC this morning and I had to arrow enter to even select my profile! The profile avatar had a faint square ring around it as if it was trying to click it for me, but nothing would happen unless I hit enter.

I tried re-installing chrome without any extensions, and at first it worked again, even the desktop functionality of left/right click. I even slowly added some extensions back and it was still fine. Then it royally messed up again!

I have no idea what happened, but I'm really upset about this.

Please help! :??:

Bump. I have the exact same problem. I did a complete reinstall of the OS. After installing Chrome with 3 user accounts, this problem returned.

I've uninstalled chrome and the problem went away for my wireless Logitech marathon mouse.

But the problem persists with my performance mouse ?!?
