the laptop I will buy has an intel i5 core 1.8 ghz processor. Now is that enough to run all of the sims 2 games, and the sims medieval, or is it too slow?

Solution
Knowing which i5 CPU and which nVidia GT graphics chip is important.

The Ivy Bridge generation Core i5 CPU has the Intel HD 4000 graphics core and is generally considered equal to / slightly better than the GT 610m graphics chip. The Haswell generation Core i5 CPU will have the Intel HD 4600 graphics core (however, there might be one or two with only the Intel HD 4400 graphics core) and is more powerful than the GT 710m, but less powerful than the GT 720m.

Full specs:
CPU: intel i5 1.8 ghz processor
OS: Windows 8 ( I will degrade to windows 7 as I KNOW these games aren't compatible with 8)
RAM: 4 GB
hard drive: 100 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce gt ( I don't know the number)

Solution
Having said the above, the Sims 2 is a pretty old game. It was released back in 2004 therefore any Intel Core i5 CPU will have a graphics core that is able to play that game. However, the Sims 3 (2009) will not be as easy to run if you plan to play that game, then it would be a good idea to have a Haswell generation Core i5 CPU with the Intel HD 4600 graphics core, or any Core i5 CPU with a decent enough graphics chip. The Sims 4 will naturally be more demanding than the Sims 3.

good thing because the other game I want to play the is the sims medieval and while it's more demanding than the sims 2, it's way less graphically demanding than the sims 3.
