i have a i3 530 OC to 4.3ghz..
4gb ram and 9500gt GPU
1366x768 max resolution..

my pc isnt strong.. im planning to upgrade my gpu into r9 270x.. i know it would bottleneck.. but is it a good choice? can i still play new games? because im planning to upgrade my cpu and ram also in the future when i get money.. its just that i dont have to buy another gpu for a long time.. or is there anything better like upgrading all.. what can u suggest to get if i upgrade all.. my budget is just $330...

First of all, there WOULD be a bottleneck.

However, it completely varies from game to game by how much is the CPU and how much is the GPU (and other factors but mainly those two).

That being said, if you plan to upgrade the rest of your system in the near future then just spend whatever you are comfortable with for the graphics portion as that will definitely improve things.

As for the Bottleneck, I don't want to start a mini-war on that, but I'm very confident stating an R9-270X would do much better in many games with an i5-4670K as compared to your current i3 CPU.

Why should he spend all his money on one videocard like a 280x over a card that is alot cheaper and will give him the same results remember he is only playing at a low resolution a 280x would be a waste. To the OP i would recommend looking at a gtx 660 they are on sale on newegg for $169 after rebate, that will give you good performance for alot cheaper and then put the rest of your money towards a new cpu/motherboard which would be better all round performance

I agree that there would be a bottleneck considering its only a dual core aswell alot of games today require atleast 4 cores to perform well

yes, sorry my bad, my eyes played tricks on me and i thought he said i5-xxx. deleted the bad post

The new AMD cards may not be the best value if compared to previous cards. There also appears to be a a lot of "OUT OF STOCK" for the 280X models.

If the NVidia deal (three games) was still in effect I'd say snap up an Asus or MSI GTX770. At this point, my advice would be still to get a 770 but consider an AMD if it gets the SAME VALUE (Google game benchmarks).

I'd also hold off a bit, maybe do a little more research and be ready to buy during after-Christmas sales.

thank you for all the answers.. i think ill just go for r9 270x.. because anything over that wont be on my budget already because i still need to get a 500w psu.. because gpu here in philippines cost a bit more.. maybe all go with sapphire r9 270x vapor-x.
