Here are reviews from the same site so you can compare:

Asus http://www.anandtech.com/show/7288/asus-mx299q-monitor-...

LG http://www.anandtech.com/show/6741/lg-29ea93-monitor-re...

(there appears to be a new Revision of the LG monitor so I'm not sure how you verify which one you get. The good review is for R1.25 if I read this correctly.)

I personally really dislike this ultra-wide ratio. Many things are optimized for the standard 16x9 ratio. For web pages most of the left and right space will be unused even if you scale (CTRL+Mouse Scroll) and for many games it might feel too wide.

Dynamic Contrast:
The first thing you can ignore are those numbers as they aren't standardized (the ones you listed). True Contrast Ratio is a different story but every monitor I've seen recently is 1000:1.

I also forgot to mention that i will be using this monitor for bluray movie watching as well. That's one of the main reasons im going for a 21:9 .
