3 beeps instead of one at startup

Another day, another question. I'll get right to it. Today my 780 ti came with the mail. I installed it and I have started playing and everything works as it should. BUT when I started my computer with the old gpu in it (680 if it matters) you could hear a beep, and after that it would boot extremely quick. But since I installed the 780 ti three beeps can be heard, and with a long pause in between thus making the boot "sequence" unbearably slow. Is there anything I should be aware and/or worried about?

More about : beeps startup

Anything but a single beep (POST successful) indicates a problem. Consult your motherboard's manual to determine what three beeps means. Once the problem is resolved, you will be back to one beep and a quick boot.

I don't have a manual. But it seems to be something with the GPU seeing as how this didn't happen with the gtx 680

All motherboard manufacturers have their documentation on the internet. Once you can figure out the make and model of your MB you will be able to Google it. If it was a pre-built system, start by looking up its model name.

Isn't "GA-H77M-D3H" the model? :p

Sorry about the error there. It looks like the motherboard doesn't like the new video card. You could try updating the BIOS on the MB.

This seems risky, but I'll give it a shot. One update read "Improve system compatibility" I am guessing this is the one I need to download?

It won't run the EXE file because it says it isn't compatible with 64x win7, weird :s. Perhaps I am doing something wrong...

Call up that manual, page 60. It is not a simple task, and there appear to be multiple ways to do it.
If you have any doubts, take your system to a local shop. They have experience doing updating all kinds of BIOSs and can probably do it in a few minutes.

The error message is simple. You picked the wrong operating system when you downloaded the BIOS update file. Looks like you need to download it again but choose Windows 7 64bit as the OS.

Where do I choose that?

In the dropdown control box that asks "Choose you OS", select "Windows 7 64Bit".

It would appear that this only applies to driver updates and not BIOS updates. I tried it again, but it's the same message that keeps popping up, it mentions something about a 16x program not being supported....

Good point! I missed that, sorry.
Can you borrow a friends machine (running a different OS) to extract the file?
If not, take it to a local shop. They will have the resources to do it.

I don't think I know anyone with the same MB as me. Taking it to a shop is very expensive. Thank you for all of your help!!

You only need someone who can extract the file (run the .exe that you couldn't on your OS).
Once you have it extracted, you can carry it back to your machine on a USB drive.
