cannot add a 3rd ram for the w520??

anyone had this problem with thier laptop? i got a w520 with 4 slots for ram and yet i can only put 2 ram because the laptop wont start with the 3rd ram installed. It keeps giving me beeping errors like; B-BBB-BBB-B (B= beep ; - = pause) .Faulty ram or am i missing something in the setting for bios? its cpu is an i5-2520m so limits is 16gb.

Sounds to me like you added incompatible RAM or the board only works with 2 or 4 slots filled although that would be rare. Your manual should say if that was the case.

Sounds as you say, i was wanting to add the 2x2gb with the 4gb and hoping the configuration to populate the ram. i thought they would pair up like slot 1&2 as for 3&4 for duel channeling as they suggested. Who would i thought i'll have a incompatible ram and lose duel channeling. Both are within same speed but different sizes. Damn.
