will amd fx 8320 work on asrock 970 extreme 4 Mb?

thank you all! now i'm thinking amd fx 8350 on a cheap asrock 970 extreme 3 rev. 2(the cpu it's on the list) will I be able to overclock just a bit with this Mb or it will fry/ crash? thank you! what value can I reach stock cooling. thanks again!

The board you mentioned isn't particularly good for overclocking. If you could get one of these you would be better off, in my opinion: Asus M5A97 R2.0 / Asus M5A99X / Gigabyte 970A-UD3 (higher than rev 1.3/1.4) / Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3.

Here's something you can look at for a guide. You can look through brands to see which are better for it (higher phase design tends to be better): http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database (Thank you to calculatron for that resource).

With stock cooling you should be able to clock to at least 4.0, so FX 8350 speed. I'm at 4.2 GHz on mine (with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO) and I haven't had to change the voltages, so I've only gained a few degrees celsius.
