Hi Everyone
So I just purchased a Dell XPS 8700 Special Edition (base model) desktop with i7-4770 Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.9 GHz), 16GB ram, 2TB hard drive + 32GB SSD. Now I knew that the 32GB SSD is just a cache but I thought that for the price (cyber monday deal got over $400 off) I could upgrade it myself by adding a 256GB SSD. The next model up cost $800 more just for the extra 256GB SSD and extra ram.
So I've read a ton of posts and articles on how to install the SSD but I'm still not sure how it will affect to 32GB cache. After putting the OS on the new SSD do I need to do anything with the original SSD cache? Is this even all possible that I'm tring to do? Thanks so much in advance.

There is no point to the 32GB cache on a system with a SSD drive, I'm assuming you plan to install the OS to the 256 SSD. So basically just remove it maybe put it into another workstation that doesn't have a SSD either way it shouldn't be in your dell box any more.
