How much faster?

I have 2 desktops....AMD Q6600 @2.40 GHZ
with 3.18 GB Ram

64 x2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.19 GHZ
3.25 GB Ram

Would this desktop be a lot faster? I do a lot of graphics with Photoshop and other high end apps

Asus M Series M11BB-US009S AMD A8-6500 (3.50GHz), 8GB Memory, 1TB HDD, Windows 8 64-bit

No, but an i5-2400 or better would be.

There are big gains in the Sandy Bridge and newer architectures. Plus you need more than 4mb of cache. Years ago I had a Q6600 based system. It was hurt most by the low cache(4mb x 2); as the 8 mb total couldn't be shared. The 6mb of smart cache on new Intel CPU's is way better and the i7's have a true 8mb.

I'm looking for faster for a reasonable price. I can buy the Asus M Series M11BB-US009S AMD A8-6500 (3.50GHz), 8GB Memory, 1TB HDD, Windows 8 64-bit for $469. Any other options would be appreciated.
