I looking to buy the Gigabyte Radeon OC R9 270 (not x). The specs on the Gigabyte website say that it requires 500w.

I have a micro ITX motherboard, a Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI.

Gigabyte doesn't say how much power the board needs to operate but I should imagine it's fairly low.

Thank you in advance.

a nice 400-500 watt PSU should have no problems running that card with that set up, just make sure it's from a quality brand, I usually trust Corsair, Seasonic, OCZ, and sometimes XFX as go to's if I'm not sure.

if you're looking for something inexpensive

or the 500W CX would be good enough, enough wattage to run your system, 32 amps on its 12V rail, decent unit from a quality brand.

the Radeon R9 270 has a moderated max TDP of 175W, needs 24A on the +12v rail and 500W minimun, but AMD and Nvidia as well, tend to overstate their requirements, so a good branded certified 500W PSU would be just fine taking into account your global PC power consumption, something like Seasonic,XFX,Corsair,Antec and you will be safe.

Well, 270 is not power hog graphic card..
This card only consume less than 150watt..

=========================================================================

but let's see if we put this graphic card in the system consist of an overclocked Intel Core i7-4960X @ 4.2GHz, ASRock Fatal1ty X79 Professional, SSD drive and other parts..and stress it in gaming and furmark..

well, as you can see in chart above, the system only consume less than 260 watt while gaming, and just around 285 watt while stressed with furmark..

So we can assume, any 400 or 450 watt good power supply from well known brand (antec, seasonic, corsair, superflower, fsp) will run your system flawlessly..
