Unable to install NVIDIA Display Drivers

I'm having a weird problem with my laptop preventing me from installing up to date drivers for my NVIDIA card.

I've gotten the correct up to date driver version from the NVIDIA website but the installer just doesn't work. It will run up to a point but won't actually complete the process. Specifically it will perform the system compatibility check (Which is a pass) and then move onto the License Agreement page which is where it stops working. As soon as I click the accept button the installer just closes without an error message or any indication of what is wrong. The only drivers i've been able to successfully install are the ones that came on a disc with my laptop but these are extremely out of date now (280.26)

I'd really appreciate any help with this.

Some things I can say:
Up to date drivers CAN work with this hardware, the first time I had it I managed to get them updated.
It shouldn't be the windows installation. This computer has been through three separate hard drives, and therefore three separate installs of windows from different sources using the same bulk key. The first time, as I said, I manage to get the drivers working but the past two installations have both had this problem.

Dunno if they'll be needed or not but here are my system specs

WIndows 7 Professional 64-bit
CLEVO CO W150HRM
Intel i7-2670QM @ 2.20 GHz
8gb RAM
NVIDIA GT555M

My guess would be that your laptop has a tweaked graphics card and it simply won't accept drivers from NVidia. The fact that your first driver upgrade attempt was successful was a fluke. If you want the most recent graphic drivers for your laptop, get them from your laptop manufacturer. This is one of the downfalls of laptop graphics.

P.S. I don't know if they're even still in the driver business, but see if you can look up Omega Drivers.
