I'm looking to switch all my gaming needs over to a computer instead of buying one of the new systems. I will primarily be using this computer for gaming, but I also frequently use Excel (which probably won't tax the system). I play a pretty wide range of games (everything from madden, to civilization, to call of duty, to skyrim), but I am not very into online play. I put together this after perusing the forums for a while.
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($117.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($84.59 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($299.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 770 4GB Video Card ($389.99 @ Microcenter)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $1152.54
I'd like to run all new games at or around max settings at 1080p and have the computer be somewhat future resistant. I plan on spending around $1200 for all of this. I appreciate any advice on how I can improve this build, and would like a recommendation for a good case to use. Thanks in advance!
