A friend of mine is looking to join the pc gaming community. He has been looking into the new consoles and decided to make the switch after finding out quite a few possibilities that are doable on the pc. Like stated, his budget is $450 and this is a Christmas gift from me to him, so I'd prefer no more than that.

Here, I have what I've been considering for him. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2evrV
He goes between his parents every two weeks, so I'm trying to make it pretty portable.

If anyone can offer some other possibilities, that would be great!

Can you come up with something that doesn't involve mail in rebates?
