I am building a new computer and have decided on most of the components except the case, power supply and video card.

CPU: Intel core i7 4770K
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI Hero
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
RAM: G.SKILL TridentX 16GB(2x8GB)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
Video Card: Deciding between ASUS Radeon R9 290X and EVGA GeForce GTX780 Classified w/ ACX Cooler

I am using this mostly for gaming.
If you can find a cheaper/better alternative to any of these components without sacrificing too much performance, that would be great.
Also, are all these components compatible with each other?
Thanks in advance!

They are both very good cases. Since I don't have a huge desk, I would just go with the Guardian. But if you don't mind spending $70 more, then go for it.

The hyper 212 is good in all, but the H60 is going to be a whole lot better at cooler the CPU. I would just spend the extra $30 for the nice...

I've gone over all the parts, and everything looks compatible. Except the CPU cooler doesn't list the LGA 1150 in the compatible sockets. But i did a quick google search and LGA 1155 cooler fit on a LGA 1150 socket. Just thought i would let you know. And spending like $80 on a CPU fan is somewhat overkill. Just go with a $60 Corsair water cooler.

And go with the GTX 780 . The 290X is a bit better, but it runs so hot. And that will heat everything up in the case. But the 290X is the better card. Better gaming performance.

And both GPU's take about 250-300W. So a good PSU would be a Corsair CX750M.

My personal favorite case is the NZXT Guardian 921 RB (blue)
Its a very nice built and looking case. It looks like it could hold any card under 12". I'm not sure on this but it seems so. And the case is 206mm wide, and the CPU cooler is 160mm. so there's an extra 40mm i believe.

Hi - If this is primarily for gaming (and you don't do a lot of photo work, rendering, etc) then save $50-$80 and
get the i5 - 4670k vs the i7. No adv in the i7 vs i5 for gaming.

Yes, the 290x prob runs hot, but right now there's only reference 290x models in the marketplace, wait a few weeks
for the non-ref cards to appear with better cooling & other enhancements.

You might want to consider the Noctua nh u9b @ $47 vs the $80 or $60 models above.

Either GPU you settle on requires a good quality 550w or greater PSU, here are some to consider:
You can find cheaper, but I don't recommend budget level PSU's for system you are assembling:

http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/ncixus/antec-power-supply-hcg620m - $50 semi mod - Seasonic OEM
http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/rosewill-power-supply-fortress550 - ex quality - platinum @ $50
http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9 Seasonic OEM @ $56
http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/ncixus/antec-power-supply-hcg750m - EX Valu @ $60 - 750w - semi mod - Seasonic OEM

I really like the looks of the Guardian but I forgot to say that I wanted a full tower but while looking at the Guardian, I stumbled across the NZXT Phantom 530. Do you think I should get it or do you know a better alternative or should I just stick with the Guardian.

I was looking at the corsair H60 but I also saw the cooler master hyper 212 evo which was cheaper. Which do you think I should get. I do plan to overclock but not alot.

I really like the rosewill but there were alot of negative reviews of it. In your opinion, which do you think is the best.

And thanks for the advice I think I'll be getting the i5 instead.

The hyper 212 is good in all, but the H60 is going to be a whole lot better at cooler the CPU. I would just spend the extra $30 for the nice quiet cooler.

And Rosewell PSUs, are the really low end PSUs. Like the ones that like only like 3 years. And they don't give the power they say they do.

Thanks guys for all the advice.
Here's my new build:
CPU: Intel core i5 4670K
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI Hero
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
RAM: G.SKILL TridentX 16GB(2x8GB)
Video Card:ASUS Radeon R9 290X
Case:NZXT Phantom 530/Phantom 410 as I dont know whether my desk is big enough so I will measure it later

But I still have one more question:
Originally I wanted to use ncix as they had good reviews and shipped internationally but I found out that they had very little products. For example:I wanted to get the seasonic x series 560w(the closest I could get to 550w) but the closest I could get was the x series 750w and the g series 550w.I heard that the x series is better so I am not too sure which one I should get.Do you think I should just stick with ncix and get the g series or x series or go with another computer hardware site(btw I live in Singapore so newegg is out of the question). Also, ncix currently has a thing where if you buy an i5 4670k, you can get a Noctua NH-D14 for just $69.99.

Hi again - of those listed, I'd say a toss up with the XFX & Antec (both Seasonic built), I'd go with the Antec because it's a better valu at that price, and is semi modular meaning you use only the cables you need and thus rducing cable clutter inside the case.

But, double check the price of any unit you are interested in, many od these were cyber Monday deals and migh have expired.

I think I will go with seasonic xseries 560w as it had better reviews but I cannot find a computer hardware site that has it. If you know of one, please tell me.Thanks!

Ah, the x-560 is discntnd, gonna be tough to find. Keep checkin sites for deals on the x-650, an ex unit (that's what I have). If that's too much $$ look at XFX (all their PSU's are Seasonic built)

Oh I did not realise that. I think I will go with the seasonic platinum 660w as I could not find the x-650 and most of the power supplies xfx provides have more than watts than what I need.
