I'm very new to building PC's as I have just stopped console gaming. It seems that the hardest part for me is actually finding the correct parts, especially with my budget. The games I plan to play the most are-Garry's Mod, CSS, Chivalry Medieval Warfare and Deadliest Warrior, Minecraft, and Killing Floor. Here comes the worst part: I need a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. (mouse and keyboard can be as cheap as possible.) I would prefer a monitor above 19 inches. My budget is around $650. (I would prefer if it didn't go over $700.) I need everything.

Solution
You can pretty much build a PC to any budget, so don't worry too much about that.
Peripherals are a tricky subject as they are so subjective. PersonA loves mouseA, PersonB thinks mouseA has way too many buttons. (Person A is my girlfriend, and she has a really stupid Razer Naga)
Realistically, you are probably going to want to spend at least $100 on a monitor, and you can get a basic gaming keyboard and mouse for $30 each. Assuming you need an OS too (another $90) that leaves $400-450 for your machine.

I played around with the FM2 socket but couldn't find anything that worked for me, so stuck with AM3+ despite the budget limitations.

This build is a bit light on graphics at the expense of CPU, but it gives you the option to upgrade...

A variant on this build would be to drop the FX6300 to an FX4300 and spend an extra $30 on graphics, but honestly there isn't much worth having in that range, it'd be a GTX650Ti Boost and that's not really an upgrade.
