Hello all! I am in the market for a new graphics card for a pc that was given to me. It is a Gateway LX6810-01 http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/gateway-lx-6810-01/4507-3118_7-33513654.html

The only changes i have made so far is having my friend install two case fans. I am looking to upgrade the GPU. I have been looking into the Radeon HD 7750 ( my friend can get me one for $60) or the Radeon Hd 7790. After doing some research i know the 7790 is a better card. My concern is which is better for this 4 year old pc. I am willing to spend about $150 on the card.

I am not a hard core gamer. Right now i only play WoW. Guild wars 2 and Starcraft 2.

Based on this info what do you think is the best option. the 7750, 7790 or something I am missing entirely?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I noticed that this card requires a 500w power supply. According the specs of my PC I only have a 400w power supply. Would this affect the machine or the card? I like the price allot on this card =)

You will not get sufficient power to the card. If you are up for it, the Corsair CX500 is on sale right now, and would still be under budget.

I have done very little work on. Computers. Is replacing a power supply terribly difficult? My last worry about stepping up to the card you suggested is will it be limited by my computers processor it ( Intel 2.33 quad core)
