CPU Heat problem...

Just got my new 8320, threw it in my build, and im having heat issues. It is hitting 55C-56C max at 1.35v with a corsair H70 in push pull. I know I put the thermal paste on correctly, 1 small spec of G751, which spreads like wildfire. The H70 is seated correctly too. I am also getting a message from y-cruncher, saying my OS does not recognize AVX, but my processor is AVX compatible. I'm thinking about re-installing Win8. Also my min. is 20C, but it jumps to like 48C in 2 seconds after starting y-cruncher. Any advice?

Ok i believe you probably just got a bad chip because it should not be getting that high. You may want to contact amd to see if they have a solution if they don't they could probably send you a new one. Sorry i couldn't help more.

Has it been over clocked at all? That voltage seems pretty high for just a base clock. If you haven't over clocked then there is a possibility that you just got a bad chip especially since you have a h70 on it.

It looks like the stock voltage is around 1.39v so really your cpu shouldn't be getting that high. Although these temps aren't dangerously high. Were these temps achieved from normal use or under full load like a torture test?

I have used coretemp, along with HWmonitor. I have sent the processor back to Newegg for a replacement. My Phenom II is running fine. Also another thing I noticed. In HWmonitor, the power for the FX-8320 was around 63W (max) while the Phenom II is at 177w. Now this seems odd, and im not sure how well HWmonitor reads power draw, but I think something may have been wrong with the chip I had gotten.
