I have some extra cash laying around and ive noticed that my current system has been a bit slow in bf4 on ultra, i was hoping to get some advice on the best path to take, currently i have a gtx 560 ti 448, and i was wondering what the best option will be. Should i get another 560ti 448? Go with a high end 600 or 700 series card? I would have around $600-700 I would also be game for other system changes as well.

Uses: Gaming as well as Autodesk products (Inventor, Revit, and CAD)
My Specs:
Monitor res: 1920x1080
Case: Corsair Carbide 500R
CPU: Intel i5 2500k, 3.6 OC (with hyper 212 evo)
RAM: 16 GB (4x4) of 1600 speed
GPU: EVGA Gtx 560 ti 448
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth z77
SSD: ocz vertex 4 128 GB (boot)
HDD 1: 500 GB (Data)
HDD 2: 240 GB (Data)
HDD 3: 1 TB (Data)
PSU: XFX Pro 750 watt with 62 amps on the 12 volt rail.

only thing you really need to change is the gpu. a r9-290 or gtx 780 will run bf ultra 60 fps @ 1080p. you should oc your cpu a little more though

Personally, I like the look of SLI in a case, but I would suggest doing SLI with something like a 760 (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX46585). OC on the CPU isn't totally necessary unless you want to, then go for it :D

dump the 448 and get a newer card........lots have changed since that card was new.

if you get a higher end card now instead of 2 cards together you have the option in the future to add another card to improve performance. OCing is not necessary but will help a semi-old cpu like yours

It seems that the best option would be the sli 760s. They should last about two, maybe 3, years and by that time I will need whole system overhaul. I was thinking of swapping the mobo and cpu, or even water cooling the system but those are both a bit overboard.

Any other thoughts on sli 760s vs a single 770 then maybe adding one later? I am open to AMD cards, but i would rather stick to nvidia.

A single 760 would be able to run pretty much anything on ultra at 60fps, I would get the single 770, and have an option to get a second later for SLI.Not to mention the fact that not everything runs well on SLI.

you don't need to sli 760's or 770's to get unstoppable performance. by the time they become "useless" as the 448, it'll be time to buy another single better card.

Hmm. I am leaning towards the 760s sli. Mostly because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfOtmoxLMXI and like i said above, by the time the 760s or 770s become a paperweight, i will need a new system.

EDIT: I under estimated my cpu overclock, it should be 4.4. Not 3.8.

if you get between 60 and 90fps while gaming everything will remain "hitch" free. you're res is 1920x1080? why would you need to cards? i saw one of those charts in the video........... the settings and the resolution........... did you look at that at all?

I was thinking that for the same price as a 770 i could get 760x2 and get better performance. i could be wrong, that was just my line of thinking.

if you want to run intense games like bf4 at close to 60 fps 1080p then you should get the 4GB version of the GTX 770. anything above that card or 760 SLI is really overkill

SLI 760's will for sure last 2-3 years, and yeah, based on your build by then you will probably be upgrading some other parts with it. If that is the case, I would suggest going SLI 760's right now, so they last until you decide to upgrade to a new build. By then, the Titans may be more affordable :D
