what should I do to remove virus from my memory card and retrieve the photos and videos stored in it.I don't have any idea what kind of virus it is but some one told me that it could be a trojan virus since it hides all the files installed in my memory card and when I reformat and tried to retrieve those files it says that there are no files to be retrieve " no files found" can someone help me out on this please?

maizer27 never format a disk or storage device as so as you do anything on the device is lost.
with memory cards and usb sticks they can go bad at any time where you plug them into a pc and you get the message this stick is unreadable or needs to be formatted or is locked. when that happens it not a virus most times (just a stick going bad). when that happens dont formant the stick first run a data recovery program on it.

to try and recover the files/photos.
if your pc does get infected run programs like hitman pro or other anti virus tools then when the pc is clean then scan your usb/memory cards. right now you have a 50/50 chance of pulling anything off that stick you formatted.

If you 'reformat' the drive, this means WIPE THE DRIVE OF EVERYTHING ON IT. As for the other 'story' you were told, don't listen to such BS. If your files were on a memory card then 'disappeared' they either were moved, deleted, or the memory card 'wore out' like a piece of paper you write on then erase, write on erase, write on erasseee.. oh damn the paper tore! Same thing for memory cards, only so many times.

Your pictures and stuff is gone. Sorry.

kristianAA: Knock it off. Instead of focusing on trying to argue with a post I did, just because I said it, why not READ what was said by all the parties IN DETAIL.

I stated WHAT a reformat was because the OP apparrently doesn't understand what that is or why that would 'delete' all his files. Secondly he based it upon a false 'hearsay' so is why I told him not to listen to such stories, NOT "op solution is bs".

By following the hearsay ("some one told me that it could be a trojan virus since it hides all the files installed in my memory card") set him down the totally wrong path ("I reformat and tried to retrieve those files ") so it makes the advice provided ( smorzio : "with memory cards and usb sticks they can go bad at any time where you plug them into a pc and you get the message this stick is unreadable") too late. IF you read smorzio said "never format a disk or storage device as so as you do anything on the device is lost....when that happens dont formant the stick first run a data recovery program on it"
but the OP stated "when I reformat and tried to retrieve those files it says that there are no files to be retrieve"
so NO it isn't easy to recover lost data when the memory card/stick is REFORMATTED after the data was ALREADY LOST ("some one told me that it could be a trojan virus since it hides all the files installed in my memory card").
