Hey all, so here's my specs (this is my old gaming computer so dont judge)

i7 875k (liquid cooled @ 4.0 Ghz)
EVGA P55 E657 mobo
4.0 GB dual channel DDR3 ram
1000W psu
Windows 7 64 bit

I'm wondering if this setup will bottleneck or in any way hinder a R9 290X (which is in the mail) from bitcoin/litecoin mining. Not looking to game at all with this rig just to mine and do a bit of folding @ home.

If it will be a major issue then I will just pull my dual 680 GTX's out of my new rig put them in my old rig and the R9 290X in the new rig. I dont want to do this simply because the liquid cooling loop in the new rig already has the 680 gtx's plumbed in.

yep, to be soley used for litecoin mining and then occasionally FAH, but as far as FAH the folding would be dedicated to the GPU only, I consider that CPU pretty much worthless for doing any folding on.
